Hike through the very heart of the Cordillera, where Peru’s highest mountains soar thousands of feet above. The Santa Cruz trek works its way over 2 high passes catching stunning views of mountains. And we ended up in the mountain Tocllaraju (6032mt)
Program:
Day 1: Travel to Huaraz. Hotel night
Day 2: Huaraz: An acclimatization and organization day in Huaraz.
Day 3: Huaraz _Cashapampa (2900mt) _ Llamacorral at (3760mt)
Depart Huaraz and drive to the small village of Cashapampa to meet your donkeys and begin your trek up the beautiful Santa Cruz Valley
Day 4: Llamacorral _Visit Base Camp Alpamayo _Taullipampa at (4100mt)
We continue the trek by the broad and flat creek Santa Cruz, crossing gaps Ichiccocha and Jatuncocha; quisuar arrive at where we started a trek to basecamp side of the creek by Alpamayo Arhuaycocha from where they have splendid views of Quitaraju (6040 m), Alpamayo (5947 m), Artezonraju (6025 m) and others, and then cross into our camp in Taullipampa (4000 m) at the foot of impressive Taulliraju (5830 m).
Day 5: Taullipampa _Punta Union Pass (4750mt) _Cachinapampa at (2800mt)
This will be a long and tiring day, rising by a steep and zigzag path between the impressive Taulliraju and flanked by the turquoise lagoon of Taullicocha arrived at Punta Union (4750 m), 5 hours.
Day 6: Cachinapampa _ Vaquería _Return at Huaraz
We continue to fall until the small Andean town of Colcabamba (3350 m), 1 hour, and then began to climb toward Vaquería (3700 m), 2 hours, which will search our car to ascend toward Portachuelo Llanganuco (4765 m) 2 hours, from where he has splendid views of Huascaran north (6768 m), Huascaran south (6650 m), Chopicalqui (6354 m), Huandoy (6395 m), Pisco (5752 m). Then go down the ravine Llanganuco visiting gaps Llanganuco: Orkoncocha and China-cocha, then return to the city of Huaraz.
Day 7: Huaraz _ Collon _ Base Camp Ishinca at (4350mt)
Today we'll take private transport to the mouth of the Ishinca Valley and with the help of burros, travel to our base camp (4350mt)
Day 8: Base Camp Ishinca _ Camp 1Tocllaraju at (5200mt)
Taking our essentials we leave for the high glacier camp of our final mountain, Toclliaraju. It usually takes 4 hours to reach the camp. Our camp, just less than 5000 meters, is perched on the glacier directly under Toclliaraju’s impressive west facet.
Day 9: Camp 1 Tocllaraju _ Summit Tocllaraju (6034mt) _ Base Camp (4350mt)
Summit day! Again you'll start early, leaving camp around 2:00am for the summit ascent, arriving back at camp around 2:00pm. After a break and some warm food, you'll continue the descent to BaseCamp.
Day 10: Base Camp Ishinca _ Collon _ Return to Huaraz
We trek out to Collon and then return to Huaraz.Time to relax after the climbing and celebrate
