Hike through the very heart of the Cordillera where Peru’s highest mountains soar thousands of feet above. The Santa Cruz trek works its way over a high mountain pass, catching stunning views of the surrounding glaciated peaks. And finish in pisco climbing (5752mt)

Program:

Day 1: Travel to Huaraz. Hotel night
Day 2: Huaraz: An acclimatization and organization day in Huaraz.
Day 3: Huaraz _Cashapampa _Llamacorral at (3750mt)
Depart from Huaraz and drive to the small village of Cashapampa to meet your donkeys and begin your trek up the beautiful Santa Cruz Valley.

Day 4: Llamacorral _ Visit Base Camp Alpamayo _ Taullipampa at (4100mt)
Continue hiking up the valley 3/4 hours towards the second camp.

Day 5: Taullipampa _ Punta Union Pass (4750mt) _ Cachinapampa at (2800mt)
Continue hiking up the valley 5-6 hours towards the first pass of the trek (Punta Union 4750mt).

Day 6: Cachinapampa _ Pampamache at (3760mt)
Continue your descent to the town of Vaqueria and camp Pampamache.

Day 7: Pampamache _ Portachuelo Llanganuco Pass (4767mt) _ Cebollapampa at (4100mt)
This last day trek to reach the highest point on our tour: Portachuelo Llanganuco (4765 m). From our camp in Pacchapampa began the ascent to reach Portachuelo (3 h) from where they have splendid views of Huascaran north (6768 m), Huascaran south (6650 m), Chopicalqui (6354 m), Huandoy (6395 m), Pisco (5752 m).

Day 8: Cebollapampa _ Base Camp at (4300mt)
We head out past the beautiful Llanganuco lakes and on to the trailhead where we load our donkeys and ascend to the Pisco Base Camp.

Day 9: Base Camp _ Moraine Camp at (4765mt)
Climb from Cave to Moraine Camp (4765mt).This climb crosses a challenging rock glacier before climbing steeply into camp in a small sandy basin just below the toe of the glacier.

Day 10: Moraine Camp _ Summit Pisco (5753m) _ Base Camp at (4300mt)
Summit day! Wake at 3:00am and after a light breakfast depart for the summit. Arrive at the summit about 7am and discover why everyone talks about the view! Return to camp and continue on back down to the Base Camp

Day 11: Base Camp _ Return to Huaraz
We trek out to Llanganuco and then return to Huaraz.Time to relax after the climbing and celebrate.
